Bryony Rose
Artists Bio
Bryony Rose is a self taught Artist born in Milton Keynes, England in 1984, currently living and practising in her hometown. Bryony works primarily as a painter with Oils and Watercolours in an expressionistic style.
Whilst studying Photography in her early twenties at University, Bryony became interested in the female form as subject, with themes of erotica, sensuality and sexuality.
After many years of physical and mental health issues, her thirties became a time of personal healing and spiritual work: Through various practices, meditations and hallucinogenic journeys, Bryony fostered a deep connection to 'Source' and recovered her health; enabling her to find the confidence to begin creating artwork again after a 15 year hiatus.
She moved into her first studio in 2023 and began creating the larger scale oil paintings her visions had been calling for.
Artist Statement
My creative visions emerge from meditations, dreams, or the liminal spaces between those realities and the waking world. My work is deeply influenced by my spiritual practices and connection with the cycles of nature, the body and life-death-rebirth. I seek to bring awareness of these realities to the viewers' conscience, evoking a sense of oneness with otherness.
My work is an exploration of the interplay between experiences, emotions, energy and the female form. Inspired by explorations into my own inner world and external bodily acceptance; expressed through vibrant colours, patterns, and symbols.
My female centred art brings awareness to the long-standing imbalance between masculine and feminine energies in our patriarchal society. By celebrating the sacredness of the feminine and of the female form, there is the possibility to foster a renewed sense of reverence, admiration, understanding and equality for a future where greater balance is restored.
